So.... we thought it would be a great idea to review STEM (Science, Technology, Engeering and Math) projects on The Man Show Live.
After all, if it is made for kids from 6-12 years old, it should be a snap for two way more than 12 year old guys to demonstrate.
This one caught us by surprise. We thought it would be easy. We thought we were as smart as any 6 year old.
We were wrong!
So what happened? How hard can it be to assemble a model of a P51 Mustang?
Well, when we opened the kit we realized were were literally building the plane from scratch. The kit had either 285 pieces or 258 pieces depending on weather you believe what is says on the box or the directions. They both had different numbers so the kit was even too confusing for the manufacturer.
We struggled through and made the best models we could in our 1 hour episode, but it was dismal and did not look anything like the instructions. But that is not the fault of the kit, it was very challenging and very flexible allowing kids to create anything they want.
This is the kind of mechanical project that will keep children off TIKTOK and engaging in mechanical engineering. And while Mr Dog Poop and Jeff might be content with their creations we do hope that children age 6 will not.
The kit has an abundance of parts and can allow any young mind the ability to be creative, to build something unique.
After all, aviation did not occur overnight. Even with the worlds best minds it took decades to actually create something that would fly.
When the Wright Brothers finally achieved it they flew for a whopping 12 seconds. In later flights that day they improved it to 852 feet in 59 seconds. Not exactly a trans Atlantic flight.
The point is, it took the brightest minds to believe that flight was possible, the dreamers, the visionaries, the people we typically think are crazy for believing such nonsense.
It is our job to help children grow their minds into someone that can think outside the box. Someone with strong deductive reasoning that has skills in multiple disciplines.
The kits we are reviewing this week could be just enough of a push to get your child moving into that direction. To give your child an advantage because they are excited by science.
The P-51 Erector Set was an excellent kit. By far one of Mr Dog Poop's favorites. Because if it was easy, there would be no value in it. No challenge and no ability to spawn innovation.
This one gets a Man Show top rating.
