Cooking with A Food Steamer

That is what we are asking as the guys cook using an all in 1 food steamer.

The one thing we learned is that the process of steaming food is slow and in a 1 hour show, we barely got the meal cooked before we ran out of time.

We tried to reproduce the beautiful food shown in the pictures on the manufactures website, but we clearly did not have the same luck.

The food was in fact wonderful and the steamer worked like a charm aside from the fact that once you set the time, you have to let it cook for the full time. There was no way to turn the dial backwards or remove the time.

The juice from the chicken and vegetables that Mr Dog poop prepared all dripped into the top collection tray and made a nice chicken soup and could have potentially been rendered down or made into gravy.

Was it convenient?

It was nice to have a separate appliance to steam food, especially for a large group or dinner party.

It can be set on a table or off in another section of your house or office or video studio and gives you extra cooking capacity for under $25.

Since it is a complete appliance, the clean up is a bit more difficult than having a steam on a regular pot on a stove. But depending on your needs, this was a good review and will get regular use in both the Dog Poop household and the Macolino residence.

The guys only burned themselves a few times and they got a meal out of it, so as far as podcast go, this one ended with any major problems.

So be careful before you crank it to 60 minutes unless you want to cook for 60 minutes.

Mountain House Adventure Meals - A LIVE prep & taste test of 4 freeze dried survival mealsIn this episode of the man show, we try some of the Mountain House Adventure meals for texture, quality and taste. What that, the guys had mixed opinions about the meals and Mr Dog Poop did not think the bacon and eggs was edible while Jeff sucked down the entire feed bad. These feed bags are very convenient for travel since the are dry, very light and last for decades in any storage condition. Of course, you still need access to clean water which might be problematic in a survival situation. But for camping, hiking or travel they are a great option at around $10-$15 per meal. The amount of food in each was surprising and likely enough to feed 2 people. The beef stew had almost no beef and was relatively tasteless. ...read more

Beer & Donuts - A Cooking and Review of the Express Mini Donut Maker Oh so long ago when we decided to make donuts. Beer and donuts we called it and the premise was to make donuts on our desks while live on the air and drinking a load of beer and whisky. Well, we did just that with a mini donut maker, so pancake and cake mixes and a whole lot of mess! Mr Dog poop takes out a 1950's hand mixer and blends that cake batter into a frenzy as Jeff Macolino just keeps eating the donuts before they are even finished. Neither of these guys should be allowed anywhere near a donut making operation. But nonetheless, they power though an episode getting burned and eating what they called donuts but more resembled a 2 grade cooking project where more batter ends up on the table than ...read more

Episode #1We finally did it, we completed one full episode. We beat the critics that said it was impossible for an old dog poop guy and his drunk friend to figure out how to stream a live show on the internet. Our first episode was about "Reviewing of a Zombie Survival Tool Kit". The kits are abundant online from mid $20's to around $50 depending on which tools are packed into the individual kit. We unpacked and tested each item to see how helpful each tool would be in a survival situation with some very nice and some completely useless. The truth is, you could never know what you might need if you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere or fall out of a plane in the Australian outback, but if you do and you have the kit with you, it could help you survive. The ...read more
